Continuing their pledge to community service, the middle school students raked leaves in various lawns throughout the town on Friday, Oct. 24.

During seventh and eighth periods, middle school students made their way around David City in search for their designated lawns. Teachers and staff monitored a group of ten or eleven students as they made their contributions toward each lawn.

“Getting down and dirty is the best part, plus you’re helping people out,” seventh grader Jacson V. said.

Raking leaves was the second community service project executed by the middle school students this year. Previously, the students painted posts at the city park.

“I think we can do better,” seventh grader Hunter B. said. “Raking was easy. This is our first step.”

The middle school looks forward to executing more community service throughout the school year.
