Are you a 9th-12th grade student at David City High School looking for a fun way to spend your Friday night? If you answered yes, stay tuned.

On Friday, Feb. 13, STAY-U will be hosting its first dance. Students are invited to come enjoy a night of dancing at the David City Elementary School gym from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Doors will open at 9:15 p.m.

Students are asked to wear casual clothing that is school appropriate. Heels are prohibited as they will ruin the gym floors.

“I know different kids have wished there was an additional dance other than just Homecoming for freshmen and sophomores,” STAY-U adviser Amy Sander said. “It is just to offer something fun for kids to do that doesn’t cost anything.”

The dance is free. Outside dates need to be signed up in the DCHS office by Thursday, Feb. 12.

Snacks and drinks will be provided, and the dance will be supervised by Sander and the parents of STAY-U members.

“It is an opportunity for students to be with their friends and at the same time be in a safe environment,” Sander said.
